{meet kristen: head shots}

Meet Kristen. She’s a cute little dance major at Wright State University & a friend of a friend. When she asked me to take her head shots I was super thrilled because I’d heard so many good things about her from mutual friends. It took a while for us to find time in our respective busy schedules to fit in this shoot (months and months!), but I’m glad we did! Although she was a bit nervous to be in front of the camera, Kristen was a breeze to shoot and a natural model (seriously, she rocked it!) We shot on an overcast evening in O’Bryonville. It was Kristen’s first time there, so thank you, Kristen, for trusting my creative vision!;)We became fast friends and I am happy to (officially) know this girl. Here are some of my favorites from the shoot! Thank you so much for choosing me to take your head shots, Kristen! You are absolutely darling!

{sneak away : a series of snapshots}

while in michigan with my beau on a family vacation, we attended the wedding of a family friend. of course, i took a few photos of the actual ceremony and festivities, but what truly caught my eye while working with the images was this series. it was candid, and natural — i glanced over to the lake, saw these two, and pressed the shutter. i love the anonymity of these images — who are these two darlings? what do they mean to each other? is it puppy love? a random meeting? are they family? since our vacation and the wedding took place in a very small, Mayberry-esque town, i have a sneaking suspicion that these two know each other, at least to some extent. but the rest of their story is a mystery. they could be anyone, and that is beautiful to me.

paige: {a backyard photo shoot}

so if you are at all familiar with me or my blog, you know i am obsessed to death with photographing my “niece,” Paige. she is the perfect little model & a perfect mix of being a “ham” and an all around wonderful little girl. i love her with all my heart and soul. obviously, she has quickly become the {holly aletha photo} poster child! i did a little shoot while babysitting one night in their backyard. the little pipper (of course) worked it out! here is a sampling of the fun we had! i love you, pipper. you are one of the biggest blessings in my life! you are the greatest thing since sliced bread.

{paige + our barn : just because}

A few weeks ago, we took a wonderful girl named Paige to visit our horse and spend some time at our barn. (I know if you read this blog, you’ve never heard of Paige, right?;)) We had a blast picking dandelions and trying to feed them to our horse, Patch — he wasn’t interested and decided he prefers grass. It was a beautiful day! I loved how these photos looked in black and white, so here you go — a little B&W springtime series. Just click on the large image to click through the gallery. Enjoy!

{this i believe : a project.}
